I joined the American districts as soon as i purchased GW. Too many people speaking too many different languages.

Anyway, i decided to take a peek yesterday to see what the language districts were like back in my "home turf".

Very pleasant atmosphere among the folks in the English district, around 3 people in the Spanish district, lol.
Anyway, out i strolled for a little hunt. Lag? I thought i had crashed because it was so bad. Constant stopping and starting, OMG.

What a waste of two territory changes. I'm never going back.

They're trying to figure it out, be patient, join another region's servers in the meantime or go play another game until it's fixed. That's what I did when I got tired of GW things.

I'm sure they're not ignoring it, it's just not being "fixed" instantly like most everyone would like.
Well iv started all the previous 50 threads, and only once (my 1st post) did I ask A.net to fix it.

All the succeeding posts have been asking A.net to CONFIRM THEY KNOW ABOUT IT.

If it was a farming run it would be nerfed the next day. Region wide lag... well afaik 9-10 days after the first report, no one from A.net cares. Iv seen not one indication of recognition of a problem, not one indication they are trying to fix it, not one inidcation that they are going to inform players that their servers struggle under high loads.

The lag gets worse, not better, and A.net continues to refuse to communicate with their playerbase regarding this issue.

What a fuking joke A.net. How hard is it to say 'We are aware of the issue please bear with us'?

A confirmation of knowledge would be nice, eventhorizen. I agree with you here. It is impossible to imagine that ANet -doesn't- know about it but...it would be nice to hear them say, "We hear you and we're working on it." Silence, in this case, isn't golden.

This isnt an isp or individual person problem. It is impossible for 4 different ppl to lag exactly at the same time and for the same duration, on the same battle, when those 4 different live on 4 different countries, all around europe. So its their servers that lag, not us. And the problem is way more annoying in pvp.

It lags only with mixed different countries I guess - that may be caused by the current floods in Europe...or maybe not.

I am sure they work on fixing this - do you really think they do this on purpose? Noone wants to lose their clients so I am sure they do their best to fix it.

So far they have proven with the Best support for a game I've seen and thus I belive in them. You must too!

Alright, well what I meant was that, there's a lot of threads about it and no reply, but the second someone makes a post about the price of Ale going up, Gaile is sure to adress it ASAP.

We are very aware of the problem, and have been responding to player-submitted reports with that assurance. The first place we look for reports of problems is, of course, through the Support Network. We're here every day, but truly it's much more efficient for you to write us when you have a problem (support.guildwars.com) than for us to scour 50+ fansite forums, thinking "Hmm, I wonder if the servers in Botswana are throwing fits today."

Please don't take my weak attempt at humour for a dismissal of the very-real problem that is going on in Europe. But are you guys reporting it? Are you submitting tickets to Support with the information that they need in order to narrow it down? This might include (in random order) date, time, server (Yes, I know, European most likely but I had to list it in a general sense), your ISP, your connection type (CM, DSL, Dial-up, etc), how long you've been experiencing the problem, and so forth.

From what I understand, there are issues beyond the game that are at the root of this problem, which, if you think about it, is sort of confirmed by the fact that it's exclusive to Europe, don't you agree?

We're very sorry about the situation. We take it seriously, and we're on the case of trying to resolve it as quickly as possible. Please do avail yourself of the opportunity to submit a report at any time, and the Support Team will give you whatever information they have available on each matter.

And European players who abandon the European server may find that they are quite sorry that they have. Trust me, there's a reason I say this, which will become clear to you very soon.

Last time PieXags sent in a support email requesting confirmation as to whether or not a gold run I was doing was considered exploiting, PieXags never got a reply. Only an automated message thingy saying I'd get a reply within the next business day, and that was about a week ago. I assumed it got lost in the mail, and never did do that gold run again for fear that it wasn't put there on purpose like I'd thought.

That's why when I need to complain, I rack up 10+ pages of support so I'm sure my thoughts get noticed without an email.

Hmm..dont know about other ppl around here but i think a lil bit more info about this should be given to us...Cauz, most ppl might wonder, is it something to try to keep ppl on this server? or is there something REALLY planned like more region-based game content? That, i d like to know

Just some random thoughts:

I'm not sure if I read it here, but submitting multiple support tickets will not get you better service. It will merely prevent others from being served, as we slog through multiple tickets from a single individual. It's like standing in a bank screaming at the top of your lungs. Do you get immediate help? Does it improve the chances of you getting to the front of the line, or having your loan approved? Hardly! It usually gets you outside the door.

I suggest that you submit a support ticket. If you find a suitable answer isn't forthcoming, you can certainly ping once more. If you need more information, that's fine, ask for it. If you intend to argue, or press for more time and effort on your case, please don't. I have some on the team suggesting that for those who become truly and provably abusive of the support system, an account action should be taken. I've said that we will not do such a thing. Please don't prove them right, and me wrong, in my having faith in the players and in their ability to use support wisely and fairly.

Region switches total four, no more. The four allows you to return to your "home turf" that final time, but really, I think it would be best to sit tight for a little while. That's just my opinion, of course.

I'm truly sorry about the lag and the difficult play situation for Europeans just now. I will be in the office in about 8 hours, and I promise that this will be the first thing I ask about so that, perhaps, I can give you an update. I do know that even last week, steps were being taken to try to correct it, and we're still most definitely on the case.

This really sounds intrigueing. Anyone dare to speculate on this (that's always fun!).

Although I am based in the UK, last night I was playing with people from America and other places in the world. We were playing in tombs and had feedback on vent on what was happening. All of us experienced lag at the same time.

Just to clarify exactly what happens....

You freeze on the spot for up to 30 seconds...the timer continues...in pvp you may find yourself dead at the end of the freeze....this happens every 5-30 seconds.

well, being a helpish type, i would probably submit a report...if i could have goten my PC to let me quit the game >.<

i loged out with f12, as i normaly do, then at the log-in screen hit the tiny top right-hand X button and.......nothing.......more notheing........not even a ctrl-alt-del could close the screen.
in the end, i had to hit the reset button, and i HATE doing that *cries*
my poor Baby (my Pc) is not a fan of resets, they can throw all sorts of things off kilter for her.

(yes, im sad for calling my machine baby, but how many of you guys have cars or bikes or similar that you have names for , and try sweet takling to get to work for you better?
*guys, meaning everyone, i use guys the way others use people*
i have not got what you would call a social life, mainly cause someone *namely ME* absolutely HAS to be at home through the nights for my mom, who is disabled. not like i can go down the local for a drink, or pop out to a nightclub, then, since i have no siblings to share the watch with me. and dont even sugest bringing a boyfriend home....*shudder*...wold YOU, if mom were at home..heheh)

i don't get what the problem is, i am in europe, i server hop to play on american servers, i play hoh, and pvp alot, and i end up fighting people all over world

i have NEVER lagged out of a pvp or hoh match, only once or twice in PvE, but that was because my wireless lost connection >.<
if i can get a a decent signal from my wireless bridge, which is downstairs from my computer that i use to play GW, and the signal is going through concrete walls, and i can maintain that connection for around 6-8 hours before i lose it for 1-2 minutes, than problem isnt with europe, its peoples' computers, isp's, or just the overall bandwidth use

people must realize that this is summer, summer = EVERYONE AND THEIR WHOLE FAMILY playing/surfing/w/e on internet, sucking up all the bandwidth, this can make even dsl slower than dial up

if european players are having lag problems i suggest you troubleshoot the problems of why you have problems

1. if all your internet is slow, explorer, mozilla, netscape, etc. then most likely the isp is getting sucked of all its bandwidth and cannot solve that problem
2. if your internet is fast with explorer, mozilla, netscape, etc. then most likely your computer can't handle the game
3. the servers could just be flooding with people

fixing 1 is simple but may take some time, i suggest you find a reliable isp that has gaurenteed speeds, even if it is isdn speed, as long as it is reliable and tends to keep at top speed

fixing 2 is more costly, you'll prolly wanna get a better computer

fixing 3 is not possible unless a-net fixes or gets better servers

i hope i help somebody
